We’ve all heard that “content is king” and while that’s true, it’s not the whole truth. If “content is king,” then “quality” is queen. Great content is crucial to your website (and if your website doesn’t have a blog that is updated regularly then it’s basically a static, online brochure) but it won’t matter how good your content is … if it doesn’t speak to your audience!
Why does being able to create highly-purposeful and engaging content mean so much to your business? Because with great content, you will attract, engage and convert far more of your ideal customers or clients. Your content needs to be focused on your ideal client – the person most likely to buy your product or service, to book you as a speaker, to read your book, to hire you as a coach.
You get better sales and marketing results when you learn how to align your sales, marketing, team, and technology around great story telling and content marketing.
If you do not have the discipline (or desire) to post on your blog regularly (and share to social media networks as well) then you are doing your business a great disservice. Does blogging get you customers and a return on your investment? You bet it does. But the blogging you do must fit your overall strategy, customer targeting, brand voice, and more. Your blog content must be exceptional and consistent.
If you don’t already have a blog, or have one you haven’t spent much time on, that’s okay. It’s not too late! Start where you can. If you love to write, channel your writing into your blog. If not, find someone you can afford and take your blog to new heights. Just don’t expect overnight results.
Results only come from consistent, quality, relevant, and informative content. What are you waiting for? Get to blogging!
Until next time, to your success!
